Done...(sort of)' [College Reflection]

Well yesterday I had my final presentation with the Review Board. It went over well. I felt good about how it turned out. Now I just 'stew' about until I find out about my final grade and what they thought of it. Until that moment, I just have one class left in my time at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

I've come along way since July 13th 2009 (my first day of college), I was nervous as all could be. The best way to describe it would to put it like this: I was a turtle stuck in his shell and had no way to crack it open and be free. As I progressed through the ranks of the school, I evolved into the person I am today. No longer am I that turtle that walked in on the first day.

I've been through a lot in these 1,250 days (7/13/09 - 12/13/12), I've had my ups and I've had my downs. I've walked and I've rode. (*Side Note* I would honestly like to look back and find out the distance I've walked all over the Pittsburgh area. It has to be a long distance.) I've been to a rave, I've been to the casino. I was an extra in The Dark Knight Rises, I walked through the streets of the city during 'Snowpocalypse'. I've walked to the Strip, to North Side, to South Side, to Oakland and to the Point. I've moved twice between dorms (lived in my one dorm for 2 1/2 years). Outside of the dorm, my family and I have moved three times. I went to the hospital about 6 times. I've been to plenty of baseball games at PNC Park. I was at the Inaugural hockey game for the Consol Energy Center (was number 199 out 200 to get a ticket- waited in line for 6 hours and made it to my class with 5 minutes to spare). I went to a convention (yugioh) with my roommates, I've been to all so many different restaurants. I've been in South Side during Friday and Saturday nights, just to walk around and watch the drunk people. I have countless memories with my roommates, some of which have been the best times of my life. I have made tons of friends and a few enemies and some people I've just lost contact with. I've laughed, I've cried (maybe just once...I think), told jokes, watch countless movies and videos. Made some of the most outrageous food combos, done some stupid dares or just idiotic things. I've been to many places over town like the from the card shop to the corner store at 2 am. I've played tons of games and stayed up late too many times. I've done work that I enjoy and hope to continue doing and other things where I was just glad to have the experience.

The time I spent in college will truly be the single most influential time in my entire life. Sure I will have other moments in the future, but the moments that I created and was a part of with some of the greatest people I know, will always be with me. I've got one more big moment to add to that list come next Thursday, when I present my final portfolio and work at Heinz Field at the Fall 2012 portfolio show. After the show is over, it may very well be that the curtains will close on the best chapter of my life so far. Next Up: Career!

Close to Graduating

I am so close to graduating and putting the saga of school behind me. For the last 15 years, all I have known is school. From the young stages of Elementary to Middle to High School to finally College. Now in about 11 days, I will be presenting my portfolio and my work at the Fall 2012 Portfolio Show. Nevermind the fact that it is at Heinz Field, where my favorite Steelers play and where I was also a part of the Dark Knight Rises filming. Nonetheless, this show will be the one memory I will always have of Heinz Field as it symbolizes the end of my Schooling Saga. What adventures wait for me in the next saga...who knows. All I know is that I cannot wait.

I'm Back...

It has been quite sometime since I have been on here. Well to recap the last year in a few words: 'TIME FLEW BY'. It's been about a year, when I posted about the last Summer Quarter and my 9th overall. Well now its my 13th overall Quarter and I am graduating this December after my 14th is final. So yeah pressure is on. Since I am near the start of my professional career, I feel as if I should use this spot more as a way to express what I am thinking about as it pertains to the industry and the world around me. I will still use this spot to showcase some ideas possibly and too showcase new things that I think are cool and I want to speak about. I will try to keep this more active than it has been this last year. So I am glad to be back and let's get this rolling.

Gettin' Ready to Start Anew...Again!

It has been a nice few weeks of rest, enjoying my time I've been spending with my family and just straight up relaxing. Starting Monday is the first day of the Summer Quarter and my Ninth quarter at the school which means I have been going there for two years now. It has been a crazy two years I might add, but they won't be compared to the wild year ahead of me.
It's always interesting for me when each quarter is about to start. I always catch up with my roommates that first night back and see how they enjoyed/spent their break. The main reason as to why it's all very interesting is because each quarter is like a different movie just each quarter may or may not be a sequel...cough, cough last two quarters cough cough. Different things are always happening and each quarter brings it's trials and tribulations. It almost feels like each week is a level in a game and that there are 10-11 levels with the final week/level being the boss fight.
Well anyway just felt like updating, I'll try to give posts throughout next week to let you the reader know how the first week back is going. Also I have decided to change my signature quote, figure maybe every month or maybe every quarter change the quote.

Finally!

Well it has finally come to an end...nah not this blog, but the quarter is finally over for me and my 3 week break can officially begin. This quarter mashed right up to last quarter has to be the most exhausting part of the year. Since in between Winter and Spring is only a measly 10 days which goes by quick and there is not true relief from the past quarters trials and tribulations. So Spring becomes actually the most stressful quarter of them all. Luckily I will only have to do that once more next year so hallelujah!!! Well anyway I'm gonna start enjoying my break and I will post on here to... I don't know what I'm gonna post on here but I'll think of something... til next time...Stay Classy!

Final Countdown!

Hello to my fellow followers,

I would first like to come on here and say that I apologize for being behind on posting everyday. I try to get one in as often as possible, like I did this past week with E3. Difference is now that it is over, I had to focus a big portion of my time devoting it to my finals which is this next week. I will be posting on here and updating throughout the week on how it goes.

Sidenote: Possibly thinking about devoting another blog to my other passion which is video games. Reason behind it is to keep the two separated and to have this one about my work focused solely to what I go to school for and to have the more fun one open and about interesting things. This is to also allow me to post things I find in video game news and post it without bogging down the other posts and burying them among the rest. I will leave a poll up to see what you guys think, whether I should do it or not.
